PCA9546A: Power-On Reset Errata

Part Number: PCA9546A

The datasheet (Revised May 2016) includes a power-on reset errata (section 10.1).  I am curious what the behavior is when this condition occurs.  Is it just that there is no access to the "downstream" ports, or are there any implications to the "upstream" side as well?

Thanks, kathy

  • Hello Kathy,

Generally what is meant by this is that the digital core will get stuck and trying to send I2C commands to the device will not work and result with a NACK.  It also means that the register settings are in the same state as when it "locked up".  You essentially can't communicate with the device.
