TCA9617B: Does the VOL will be affected by external pullup resistance?

Part Number: TCA9617B

Hi there Supporter,

External pullups are required by TCA9617's both sides. Additionally in practice, there would be several different power rails applied on either side and the most economical implementation for the power isolating is to use passgates, see the attached screenshot. Can you help confirm if TCA9617's  VOL will be affected by so many pullup resistors?

Regards,

S.P. Lin

  • Hello S.P. Lin,
The VOL of the B side with the static voltage offset will not be affected as long as you don't go beyond 30mA. The A side will affect the VOL as it is a function of the pull down FETs max Rdson. We have it specified at a max of 0.23V at 30mA, so ~7.6 Ohm max. Does this make sense?
