SN65HVDA195-Q1

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN65HVDA195-Q1

Dear all.

Is this device supporting L-Line?

Regards,
PAN-M

  • Hi PAN-M,

Did you mean to type "K-Line" which is a ISO 9141 standard? If so, the SN65HVDA195-Q1 is the correct device to use for this application since K-line supports data rates down to 10baud (100ms/bit). The SN65HVDA195-Q1 does not have a dominant state timeout feature built in, so it can support data rates down to DC.

The main difference that you should be aware of is that typically in K-line the pull-up resistor is external to the device and is on the order of 200kΩ. Since the SN65HVDA195-Q1 was derived from a LIN transceiver, it has a built in pull-up resistors on the order of 20kΩ-60kΩ with a series blocking diode.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

    Thanks,

    John
