UCC21520: shutdown

Does this device have thermal shutdown protection?

Our customer use this device on their board. However sometime it shutdown during it is operating. Then it operate normally again when it restarts.

What do you think any causes to shutdown? ( I am sorry. We don have any detail. We now are investigating about the detail.)

Hi Koji,

The UCC21520 does not have thermal shutdown protection.

Can you send the schematic and critical waveforms in order to investigate the cause of the shutdown?

Thank you for your reply.

The output become low level when it stop. I think that this device does not have any shutdown function(protection). Is that right?
(That is why I asked about thermal shutdown.)

I am asking the customer about more detail. I will feedback to you if I got.

And please let me know if this device has any protection or function to shutdown.
(I understand this device has UVLO function. However I don't think the UVLO states does keep such long time.)

Hi Koji,

The UCC21520 has no shutdown protection features other than UVLO.

We're looking forward to hearing more information from the customer.
