TXB0104: Problems to translate SPI Signals

Part Number: TXB0104
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN74LVC245A

  Hello Everyone

We are using TXB0104PWR level translator in one of our custom board to shift SPI(Serial Peripheral Interfac) pins.Following is the snapshots of the schematics related to TxB0104PWR IC.

The issue is that after using this level shifter SPI logic zero is geting boosted up to 0.8V to 1 V but we are expecting the ouput from level shifter logic zero to be 0V.

Pease help us to resolve this issue any help would be greatly apreciated.

Thanks & Regards

Brijender

  • hi Brijender,

The TXB has very weak drive with drive of +-20uA. With 4.7K resistor, there is 0.7mA current generated which is over 30times the recommended datasheet value. I see that TXB is being used as buffer rather than a voltage translator , would you consider using transceiver like SN74LVC245A which are bidirectional and has enough drive to overcome this 0.7mA of current ?
