TXB0108: interface with AD574AU ADC

Part Number: TXB0108

Hello,

we use in our design levelshifter TXB0108 on the digital interface between ADC AD574AU and FPGA. We had in past a lot of issues with this levelshifter and I just would like to make sure that this connection will not cause any potetntial problems. This is TTL standard, the connection is point to point without any PU or PD resistors on the lines. Is the TXB0108 a good choice in this case?

  • Wioleta,

    Welcome to e2e.
Sorry to hear that there were issues with the level shifter in the design.
I would like to know the issues, if possible in more detail to see if I can help.

TXB device is suitable for push pull signal interface ,which I believe in this case it is. Pullup or pulldown resistors are not recommended either which is not used in your case either.
The device, however, does not conform to the TTL standard( Vih of 2V for 5Vcc ). Please confirm if my understanding of the requirement is correct.

What is the translation requirement along with data rate? Maybe there are other potential devices you could consider.
