Historical date code question.

Hello,

This isn't a typical engineering query.  I'm researching early DIP device date codes.  Below are scans of two devices that confuse me.

They appear to be early devices produced by the Malaysian TI corporation.  They have "Malaysia" imprinted on the bottom in a recessed circle.

They don't appear in "The Integrated Circuits Catalog for Design Engineers" first edition dated circa 1971.

From my research, Texas Instruments Malaysia incorporated on September 14, 1972.

From what I know of early TI date codes, they should correspond to 1962 and 1964, but don't appear to have existed then.  This makes me think that early TI Malaysia date codes may reference to 1970 and that these date codes are actually 1972 and 1974.

It is possible that they are forgeries of legitimate TI devices.

Any information regarding these devices is welcome.

Thank you,

Ryan

This device I can identify but I do have a question about pin material composition.  It has a lovely orange red patina that is nearly identical to that which is found on old silver.  Searches for "1960s Integrated circuit Texas Instruments pin silver" and the like don't lead to any explanation of why they would have a patina that I have never seen on any other IC.

Thank you for your time,

Ryan
