Hi,

We are using external oscillator of 16Mhz in our custom board. So we disabled all clock sources. Wrote 0x4FF in CSDIS register. When this instruction was executed target got disconnected. Thereafter, we are unable to connect to the target.

Pls. suggest the possible reasons for the same.

Archana,

External clock is one of the clock sources. You should have them enabled. Why do you want to disable all clock sources?

Hi,

The external oscillator is enabled. Internal Oscillator, PLL and other clock sources of TMS570LS3137 were disabled. This was done by mistake. Intention was to disable only Internal Oscillator.

But after disabling all clock sources(except external oscillator), we are not able to connect to target anymore.

Pls. let us know what would have happen in the above case.

In order to drive a external crystal, you need to have the internal oscillator circuit enabled. If you have an external oscillator, you still need to enable the internal oscillator circuit. Disabling it will ground the OSCIN pin.
