TMS570 MDK LCD problem

Aniketh,

Can you confirm which version of the LCD board you have in your kit? The part number you provided seems to be the part number from the blue board not the gold/amber colored LCD interface board.

It seems the CCSv6 project had been modified to work with the new version of the LCD board. This may be why it is not working for you.

Hello Aniketh,

The part number you mentioned is on the blue board that the physical LCD is mounted to. What is being referred to is the gold colored board on the back side of the LCD board (you have to disconnect from the mother board and look on the backside). See the picture below where the part number should be located circled in red for each version.

I think the part number you provided is the one of the touch screen panel.
Can you please dismount the LCD board and tell us the part number written on the goldish yellow flex PCB, as suggested by Chuck.

In that case you could do the following:

1. Open the GLCD.c source file, from the Confidence project.

2. Go to line 143, this should contain the following variable declaration: unsigned short DriverCode;

3. Make the variable DriverCode volatile: volatile unsigned short DriverCode;

4. Recompile and load the modified program on the board.

5. Run to line 147 and tell us which driver code was read out of the LCD controller

But please also consider to demount the LCD board, it's just connected via 4 screws and can be easily unplugged.

This should be the older (original) LCD module, which uses the SPFD5408 LCD Controller.
Therefore it should work with both Confidence Test projects, the original one and the new one I uploaded on the other e2e thread.

Did you tried my new Confidence Test project?

If so, can you please tell me the Driver Code read out of the LCD Controller, as suggested above.

Yes I tried both the confidence Tests but only the LEDs work not the LCD

Hi Aniketh,

As I wrote above, from the photo you send I would assume, that this is the LCD with the SPFD5408 controller, but we can't be a 100% sure until you read out the controller code (0x5408).

If it's the LCD with the SPFD5408 controller, there should be no problem at all with the Confidence Test project, maybe it's just a week connection between the CPU and the IO board.

Also can you please tell us the versions of the CPU board. The version number is written close to the big TI sign (lower left corner), in my case its Vers. 3.
