HALCoGen DMA code for RM46x

I am trying to use the DMA module on the RM46x chip (LAUNCHXL2-RM46) however I cant seem to generate the requisite DMA file (dma.h and dma.c).

Hpw do I do that?

Hi,

You can see them getting generated as sys_dma.c/h files under system category in Halcogen.

Each DMA channel has a corresponding bit in the Software Channel Enable register (SWCHENA). The DMA channel is triggered by software by setting the corresponding bit in this register.

Last question. Is it possible to program the ePWM modules to fetch a compare value using the DMA? Also for the RM46x what channels are associate to which hardware?

It is not possible to directly generate a DMA request based on a compare value in the ePWM modules. The actual modules that have the capability to generate a DMA request and the default channel mapping is defined in the part's datasheet. For RM46L852 this would be the document SPNS185 (see page 108).

I had the same problem. Is there any reason why sys_dma.c has "sys_" in its name? At least in the projects I created, the functions in sys_dma.c are not called from other HALCoGen-generated sys_*.c files (which do call each other).

My best guess up to now: "sys_" is needed to have the code in it running in priviledged mode (to set registers of the DMA module).
