Not able to SET the pin using REG_GE_DATA

Hi Team,

Recently, we have procured TMS570LS3137ZWT and started testing HET module using Code composer Studio 6.2 version.

Test case: We have configured in such a way that for pin 30 in N2HET1 module, a square wave of 3 volts peak to peak is applied with 32 KhZ. We have configured N2HET1 such that if the input frequency <=33 Khz, pin 31 should be set.

L06 MCMP { next=L09,en_pin_action=ON,cond_addr=L07,pin=31,order=REG_GE_DATA,action=SET,reg=R,data=0x1C};

But, we could see that PIN 31 is always SET irrespective of whether the magnitude comparision is satisfied or not satisfied.
Please confirm, is it the expected behavior?

Note: We are using the Evaluation board.

Once set, the pin remains set unless another instruction clears it. If you want the pin to clear when the counter resets you want "action=PULSEHI".

Hi,

Thanks for quick response. But the issue here is, the pin 31 is always set irrespective of whether the condition is satisfied or not. Means that if we give input frequency as less than 33khz, still the pin is set.

Can you check if there is any issue with the REG_GE_DATA in evaluation boards?

There is no known issue with using REG_GE_DATA in MCMP instruction. I do not have sufficient information to debug your N2HET program for you.

Hi Bob,

Please find the code in attachment which we were testing and with this we could see that pin 31 is always set irrespective of frequency value on pin 30.

Just double checking, did you configure pin 31 as an output in the HETDIR register before starting the N2HET?

Hi Bob,

Yes, the same code is working when we use DATA_GE_REG but not with REG_GE_DATA.

The MCMP instruction works fine. I just did a test. This code generate a PWM waveform

Hi Wang,

Can you please check the code snippet provided and see if there is anything wrong in that. Since, with the shared code, we could not set the pin when the frequency is less than a configured value.
