Hi Team,

Till few days back, I am able to connect to the target through XDS100v2-USB debug probe and it was working fine.
But, recently when i tried to connect it back, getting the following error:

Error connecting to the target:
(Error -1170 @ 0x0)
Unable to access the DAP. Reset the device, and retry the operation. If error persists, confirm configuration, power-cycle the board, and/or try more reliable JTAG settings (e.g. lower TCLK).
(Emulation package 6.0.407.3)

Can you please help in this on how to resolve it.

Hi,

Can you share the gel script if we want to manually reset few of the hardware registers? Since as per wiki, we could see for software issues, we need to use gel script.

Did you program any code into the MCU flash? Is the nERROR led on?

Hi Wang,

We have used the used in Initialization script (whose snapshot is attached for reference) and tried for loading the image.
The error is same.
Please let me know if we need to do anything further.

Hi Wang,

Error LED is not ON. But LED's at D9 and D12 are ON and what ever mentioned in -http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/Debugging_JTAG_Connectivity_Problems#Cannot_access_the_DAP

Hi,
Some of the text was missing in above comment. We tried with what ever mentioned in -processors.wiki.ti.com/.../Debugging_JTAG_Connectivity_Problems link with the help of gel script provided and still problem is reproduced. The snapshots for testing is attached. Can you confirm, is the issue is related to hardware or software issue?

Hello Sreenivasan,

There might be something wrong with your code in flash. The error generates data abort or prefetch abort which blocks the JTAG. One way to try is to hold the nRST button, and click "Connect Target", then release the nRST immediately.

1. Open the target configuration window, and launch the selected the configuration
2. Switch to debug window
3. Press the reset (nRST) button and hold it
4. Click “Connect Target” immediately after you release the nRST button
5. The board should be connected after couple tries
