Linux/SIMPLELINK-MSP432-SDK: OutOfBox_MSP432P401R_GUI on Ubuntu 16.04 LTS 32-bit

The MSP432 launchpad out-of-box demo gui will not run.

simplelink_msp432_sdk_1_20_00_45/tools/OutOfBox_MSP432P401R_GUI/linux

$ ./OutOfBox_MSP432P401R_GUI
bash: ./OutOfBox_MSP432P401R_GUI: cannot execute binary file: Exec format error

I notice this note on the TI Cloud Agent page:

At the current time, only 64-bit Linux distributions are supported by TI Cloud Agent.

This suggests to me the GUI also requires a 64-bit Linux distribution. Is that the case?

    Hi Patrick,

    I am going to ask around today to try and find this answer for you, but have you tried using the online version of the GUI?  Perhaps this will work for you?

    I have not been able to get the online version of the GUI to run on my 32-bit Ubuntu Linux computer.
    I have not been able to run the TI Cloud Agent installer on this computer.
    TI Cloud Agent is supposed be supported only on 64-bit Linux distributions.

    I have been able to run the OutOfBox_MSP432P401R_GUI on an old MacBook and an old PC running Windows 10 32-bit.
    But not this 32-bit Ubuntu Linux computer.
    I guess it's a sign I should get a new Linux PC.

    Sorry for the inconvenience and thank you for bringing this issue up to us.  The 32 bit version was created and meant to be included in the SDK folder you mentioned in the original post, but got lost somewhere along the way.  We will work to get it included in a future software update.

    For now, I just found out you can download it from this website.  Please note that this website is going to be removed soon!  So you should download ASAP from here.

    Hello Patrick,

    While the link John gave you to an old release of the Out of Box Experience GUI will work on Linux 32-bit, we are no longer officially supporting Linux 32bit and have dropped all testing and support. As you mentioned other TI products like TI Cloud Agent no longer support 32-bit as well. A 32-bit version of the Out of Box Experience GUI will not show up in any release of the SimpleLink MSP432 SDK.
