Unique serial/ID number for Tiva TM4C1230E6PM processor

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TM4C1230E6PM

Hello, simple question here; does each TM4C1230E6PM have a unique fixed serial number available for reference, as do many other microcontrollers?  For example the NXP LPC11U24 has such a number.

I could not find one referenced in the TM4C1230E6PM manuals, but I could have been looking for the wrong item.  If one is available, please point me to a manual page and I can take it from there.

Thanks for all your help.

  • Hi Mark,

See, Device Identification 0 (DID0) Register at your device datasheet.

  • Hello Mark,

If it is a number that is per part and cannot be found on any other TM4C1230E6PM ever, then it is not the case for TM4C123. This has been introduced only on TM4C129.

  • Hello Kel, thank you for your response.  I have found DID0 in the data sheet, and it states in the text "Each microcontroller is uniquely identified by the combined values of the CLASS field in the DID0 register and the PARTNO field in the DID1 register".  However the descriptions of the CLASS, MAJOR, MINOR fields in DID0 and PARTNO in DID1 appear to me that the same number could apply to multiple microcontrollers in a batch (with the same product number).

What I am looking for is a unique number for each individual processor, even those of the same part number made in the same batch.  Could you please confirm that DID0 provides a unique ID number for each individual piece of an identical product?

    Thanks again,

    Mark

  • Hello Amit, thank you for the answer, that is exactly what I needed.
