TWL6040 handsfree speaker with OMAP4460 connection

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TWL6040

Hi, is just that i have a Pandaboard ES and i would like to connect the handsfree speaker connector to a speaker (to use the 1.5W amplification from the TWL6040 audio codec), is that possible?, or do i have to decode the output from 13 and 15 pins from the J6 expansion connector from pandaboard, how can i get the an amplified audio output to speaker from that connector (J6)?. thanks.

  • my problem is solved, it was an issue with the speakers but it doesnt need any other kind of connection, just the speakers.

  • hi...,

can you tell me what procedure you do for playing in Handsfree.

i am doing the same thing for OMAP4430 panda-board. but i doesn't get output in Audio jack.

    with regards,

    Rahul

  • Hi, have you checked the signal from those output pins of the J6 connector with an oscilloscope to see if there is a signal?, if you do have the signal, check the speakers, my problem was that the frequency of that signal was high (352.58kHz) and apparently the speakers that i was using couldn't response to that signal, so i used another ones of 1 Watt and i finally got the sound, with the handsfree (+) and ground or handsfree (-) and ground, you get the half of the signal than if you connect both cables of the speaker, one cable to handsfree (+) and the other cable to handsfree (-).
