upgrade u-boot in J6

I somehow corrupted bootloader and not able to get the shell prompt to upgrade any images, is there any flashing tools(USB, UARt etc) availble to update the bootlaoder by dumping bootloader into RAM? or only we have to use JTAG to upgrade bootloader?

using GLSDK 6.03 based version.

Hi Sandesh,

Have you considered booting from SDCARD first?

Also you can migrate to the latest version of the GLSDK -> GLSDK_6.04.00.02

Sorry to update you now.. mine is J6 customized hardware, there is no SD/MMC interface. the hardware contains QSPI NOR and eMMC NAND interface..

Hi Sandesh,

At least if you have USB port rooted out, you can try usb peripheral boot. More info here.

I cannot suggest any easy other way than that.

Yes i'm able to access the USB interface and i tried as mentioned in shared omapboot document,

I need to download u-boot.img to target SDRAM and need to execute it on RAM, so i get control of the device, But when i tried to compile and download to target device, able to download the aboot.ift to SRAM and expecting 0xaabbccdd msg from the target device, which is not happening and usbboot fails to download the bootloader to target device.

I'm using OMAP5 Cortex A15 based J6 platform device. i feel i need to modify the SDRAM config and clock values w.r.t target device in aboot.

Please guide me regarding this.

i modified the u-boot code to support special boot and fastboot configuration and now able to download special boot loader followed by fastboot mode enable from target side and download images to target device.
