Hello

please have a look at this wireless charge circuit. I added some front end high freq filtering for RF(as a backup)

any comments on the schematic and the gauge circuit are appreciated.

any of the capacitors such as C1-C12 needs tweaking when the transmitter is choose in the wearable device

to optimize any parameters? or just settling for the reference design is good enough? please see attached pdf below- thanks

I can help with the bq51050 schematic review. For the gauge circuit review, please repost to the gauge forum.

- The Cs and Cd value should be tuned based on the specific coil that you are using. The below tool can help you with that.

- Your ILIM is set to ~230mA. This device is designed for higher power applications, so the current accuracy will not be as good at low current level. For wearable applications, you can also check TIDA-00318 which is a reference design using bq51003+bq25100. It is optimized for low power applications.

- The RFOD and ROS can be tuned using the FOD tuning tool.

hi Winjia

the XLS spreadsheet to calculate the resistors for the BQ51050B has a name that references BQ5122X.XLS

can this same spreadsheet be used to calculate the BQ51050B resistor values?

Are you talking about www.ti.com/.../sluc566 ? This is used to calculate the capacitors' value (Cs and Cd) and the same formula applies to both devices.

Yes I am referring to that same xls in the www.ti.com/.../sluc566
zip file.

so this xls can be used to calculate the capacitor for the BQ51050B? what about the rest of the worksheets inside this xls for
calculating RTERM, RILIM, RPLB.... are they all valid to use with the BQ51050B also?

I'm afraid only the capacitor's calculation is applied. The other sections are specific to bq51221. You will need to use the formulas on bq51050B datasheet to calculate the resistor value.
