It’s back-to-school time, but that doesn’t have to mean just for kids.

TI is helping learners of all ages study engineering by partnering with the University of California at Berkeley, the University of Texas at Austin, and the Georgia Institute of Technology on Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) curricula.

So instead of getting your notebooks and pens ready, get your LaunchPads and breadboards out. Here are three ways you or your students can brush up on skills or incorporate content into your courses this year:

  1. University of California at Berkeley MOOC: Anyone can learn the fundamentals of electronic interfaces using a hands-on, “maker” learning approach, along with TI analog and classic MSP430 LaunchPad™, thanks to this new MOOC. Learn more about it here.

  2. The University of Texas at Austin MOOC: EdX and UT Austin are making world-class embedded systems education available to anyone through an MOOC using a TI TM4C LaunchPad and SimpleLink™ Wi-Fi® CC3100 BoosterPack™. This is the first TI hardware-based MOOC which has now been seen by more than 70,000 attendees. Learn about it here.

  3. Georgia Institute of Technology MOOC: Sign up for a seven-week MOOC called “Control of Mobile Robots.” The course investigates modern control theory and robots and drew nearly 34,000 students using the TI processor based BeagleBone Black platform. Learn about it here.

We believe in continuing education and are doing our part to help make it inspirational and beneficial for students and adults. Learn more on how MOOC content can be a great complement to your own in class instruction this semester here.
