Welcome back! We hope you all enjoyed DistribuTECH 2014 in San Antonio late last month. TI’s Smart Grid team was on-site all week and showcased all of our technology – we hope you had a chance to stop by our booth to get a first-hand look at the products.
In case you missed us, we had four connected demo stations linked together via power line communication (PLC) and offered customers real-time examples of TI’s system solutions ─ from energy distribution, energy metering, data concentrators, smart grid communication, energy harvesting, and power products.
Our team always looks forward to DistribuTECH because it allows us to take the pulse of the industrial energy world and learn about the latest and greatest trends, innovations and challenges for the future.
It also gives us an opportunity to meet key players in the grid infrastructure and smart metering markets and see their latest technologies for substation automation, protection relays, circuit breakers and smart meters.
Did you know, TI is one of the first semiconductor companies to demo a substation automation solution that lets you implement the new IEC 61850 communication standard? We announced the latest innovation in this area with our partner Triangle Microworks at the show. The low-cost solution is available immediately from TI.
We also had the opportunity to announce a collaboration with Tailyn Technologies on a new power line communication (PLC) module that can be customized to fit any designer’s needs.
