Other Parts Discussed in Post: ENERGYTRACE

At TI, each new product we release is an opportunity for you to create the “next big thing.” These products are built upon the hard work of 100,000 customers and 31,000 TIers worldwide, and this collaboration ensures a reliable pipeline of innovations for tomorrow and years to come.

It shouldn’t be a surprise, because innovation is the foundation upon which TI is built. Today, TI’s Analog and Embedded Processing products are shaping the future of electronics. Tomorrow, the possibilities are endless.

It has been a few exciting months for our Analog, Embedded Processing and Wireless Connectivity teams and customers across the globe. Just this month, we were recognized on the EDN Magazine Hot 100 products list of 2014. These awards highlight the industry’s most significant products of the year based on innovation, significance, usefulness and popularity. We’re thrilled to announce TI solutions won in three categories!

Category: Components & Packaging

TPS2592: 12V eFuse with Integrated Blocking FET Driver: TI’s eFuse FET driver defends against overloads, shorts circuits, voltage surges, excessive inrush current and reverse current. The highly integrated circuit protection and power management solution comes in a tiny 3 mm by 3 mm package.

Category: MCUs & Processors

MSP430FR59x/69x: Ultra-low-power FRAM MCUs: The industry’s lowest power MCUs. Period. The EnergyTrace++™ technology on these MSP430 MCUs is the world’s first debug system that enables developers to analyze power consumption down to 5nA resolution in real time for each peripheral.

C2000™ Piccolo™ F2807x MCUs: Accelerate control systems while decreasing system cost! These 32-bit MCUs feature the powerful combination of our C28x core and accelerators to increase performance of industrial control applications such as digital power, renewable energy and automotive control.

Category: Power Management

Simple Switcher® LMR22007: DC/DC buck regulator: The industry’s smallest 12-V, 750-mA DC/DC power regulator is designed with a low-current mode to maintain efficiency under light-load conditions.

bq25100: Single Cell Li-Ion Battery Charger: The industry's smallest, lowest power linear battery charger. At 0.9 mm by 1.6 mm, it achieves a solution half the size of competing charger solutions.

The annual Electronic Design Magazine Best of 2014 awards also recognized our SimpleLink™ Wi-Fi CC3200 wireless MCUs as the best communications product of the year! This internet-on-a-chip™ solution is a wireless MCU that integrates a high-performance ARM® Cortex®-M4 MCU with on-chip Wi-Fi, Internet and robust security protocols allowing customers to develop an entire application with a single IC.

R&D Magazine also released its R&D 100 awards. The R&D 100 Awards recognize excellence in innovation for products that are, or will, make a difference in our everyday lives. We had two winning products on this list, too!

The LDC1000 Inductance-to-Digital Converter, the world’s first inductance-to-digital converter (LDC), was recognized in the electrical devices category for providing electronics system designers with a new platform for developing breakthrough solutions to difficult system problems.

We also made the list for our new bq25570 ultra-low-power nanopower boost charger with integrated buck. The charger is the first device of its kind to implement a highly efficient boost charger with a nano-powered buck converter to efficiently acquire and manage the microwatts to milliwatts of power generated from a variety of DC sources like photovoltaic (solar) or thermal electric generators.

We're excited that our investment in innovation continues to result in award-winning ICs that help our customers stay at the forefront of their industries with differentiated end products. Leave us a note and let us know—did your favorite TI ICs make the awards lists this year?
