Hi,
USB 3, by spec, can only reach up to 3m. You will need a USB 3 Hub like TUSB8042A (Gen 1 only) that can support 3m passive cable. However instead of using passive cable, you will need active cable with custom cable assembly to support 7m portion.…
Hi,
USB2 is intended for these applications and TUSB211/TUSB216I can be used. USB 3 at 6m will be difficult you will need two TUSB522P/TUSB1002A on both ends of the cable.
Hi Andy,
You can find a comparison table in the TUSB217A datasheet, see link below. TUSB216I BOOST pin configures both AC and DC gain. Level 1/2 works for most applications.

Hi MJ,
I recommend looking at TUSB216I specifically. TUSB216I has better redriving capability than TUSB211. TUSB216I includes AC and DC boost in the BOOST setting while TUSB211 only includes AC boost. TUSB216I adds CDP function for BC 1.2 applications…
Hi Sherry,
Yes, the TUSB216I is designed to compensate the USB high speed signaling while shorted to the DP/DM lines.
If the customer is taking eye diagrams, that is considered compliance testing since it is high speed signaling without a HS handshake…

My customer want to transmit signal by a ten meter TYPC-C cable. Is it possible to implement this solution using TUSB544?
Thanks and regards
