PGA309EVM-USB: Auto Cal process is completed and showing eeprom saved, but values not saved

Part Number: PGA309EVM-USB
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: PGA309

Hi,

Good Day. I have a customer who is working with PGA309EVM-USB. Please see below his query for your reference. Thank you very much.

We have purchased PGA309EVM from TI and supplied to Vishay Precision Group (Oragadam, India); when we connect the above board to the PGA309 IC (inside a product that VPG is manufacturing) and starting the autocal, the auto cal is running fine and getting completed then software shows eeprom saved, but when going to EEPROM tab and clicking 'Read EEPROM' button all values coming as are '0000', the values are not saved and the PGA309 IC is also not calibrated.

Hello sir, we have been trying out your solution (https://e2e.ti.com/support/amplifiers-group/amplifiers/f/amplifiers-forum/981746/pga309evm-usb-after-calibration-is-complete-eeprom-calibration-data-are-all-zeros/3627610?tisearch=e2e-sitesearch&keymatch=PGA309EVM%252520auto%252520cal%2525200000#3627610) so it took a delay to respond, sir i dont think pre cal settings are problem in my case, what we noted while trying your solution is.. we have three PGA309EVM-USB boards with us, for the same settings one board is working ok and eeprom values getting saved but in other two boards we are facing this issue.

Best Regards,

Ray Vincent

  • Hi Ray,

I will follow up with you directly via email on this case.

    Please confirm the following:

    1) Kindly confirm all the USB -DAQ jumpers are in the correct positions on all three setups:

    2) Please let us know which mode of operation they are using: 4-wire voltage output mode, 3-wire voltage output mode, or current output mode. The PGA309EVM board jumper settings will need to follow either slide 4 (4-wire mode voltage mode), slide 23 (3-wire voltage mode) or slide 44-45 (current output mode).  Confirm all set-ups use the same jumper configuration. See attached detailed instructions for each.

    3) If the auto-calibration procedure runs properly, the software generates a file with the EEPROM calibration results and stores it in a directory, as well as writing the EEPROM. Please request the EEPROM file results located on the directory: 'C:\Program Files (x86)\proj_PGA309EVM-USB\EEPROM_Cal_Results'. Please request two EEPROM files for both cases: when using the hardware setup that writes the EEPROM vs the hardware setup that does not write the EEPROM.

I will follow up with you directly via email on this case.

    Thank you and Regards,

    Luis
