Hi team,
The OPA2210 Exposed Thermal Pad, where should I connect it to?
Can I connect it to the solid pattern of floating potential?

Hello Clemens,
I have two additional questions.
1. Is there a potential that you expect to connect to in design?
Is the thermal pad electrically connected to the V-?
2. Are there any pins that should not be connected?
Regards,
Masakazu
1. As far as I know, the thermal pad is connected with eletrically conductive glue to the substrate, which is at the V– potential.
2. Unused outputs can be left open. Unused inputs must be not be left floating. The easiest way to connect an unused opamp is to configure it as a voltage follower with any voltage inside the common-mode input range.
Hello Clemens,
Thanks to the support.
So, the thermal pad should not be connected to any pins other than V- or be left floating, right?
Which is better V- or floating?
Regards,
Masakazu
Hi Masakazu,
the thermal pad needs to be connected to V-.
Kai
Hi Adachi-san,
Thank you for your post. Kai is correct, please connect the thermal pad to V-. Please see this note for correct PCB attachment as well: https://www.ti.com/lit/an/slua271b/slua271b.pdf
