LM13700: Simulation, hardware & system design tools forum

Part Number: LM13700

I was looking at the following post and I seem to be getting the same error.  This is on a fresh install of the SW.  Has this been fixed?  Is some sort of update required after I install the SW?

https://e2e.ti.com/support/tools/simulation-hardware-system-design-tools-group/sim-hw-system-design/f/simulation-hardware-system-design-tools-forum/1024860/pspice-for-ti-lm13700-can-not-place

Thanks,

Geoff

  • Hey Geoff,

I wasn't able to place the device by double-clicking it but was able to find a work-around.

Start by right clicking the part, selecting "open model test circuit" and selecting "LM13700 PSpice Model"

When the project opens, expand schematic1 and double-click page one.

from there you can see the model and copy-paste it into your design.

Let me know if this works for you. In the meantime I will reach out to the PSpice for TI team and see why we cannot directly place this device.

    Best,
    Jerry

  • I have not looked at this yet, If this get locked before I do I will ask again

  • Hey Geoff,

I spoke with the PSpice for TI team and they will update the part name to reflect LM13700/NS and pull the part properly so it can be placed from the integrated library. This workaround should work in the meantime and the update will show in a week from when it is fixed.

Please note that PSpice for TI needs to be closed before an update can apply (it checks around 6am), but will update automatically.

Thanks for catching this error and notifying us so we can fix it!

    Best,
    Jerry

  • Geoff,

There has been a model library update. The LM13700 should be able to be placed normally in your design now if you have the model update as of 3/31. Thank you for your patience!

You may check your library version using the below steps.

Under Help, select TI Models, Products or Application Support

At the bottom of the window, under "model library version" it will state what library version you have.

If you do not have the most recent library, relaunch the program or it may update tomorrow.

    Best,
    Jerry
