Hello

Could you confirm if the OPA4830 SPICE model is working properly ?

I tried to import it in LTSpice - I'm used to do it - and just with a simple voltage follower I cannot get any proper result.

I just tried the same with the OP2834 and this one works fine.

Hello Nicolas,

Could you share a screen shot or capture of your results? I was able to verify the OPA4830 SPICE model works as intended in TINA-TI software. I also verified the model's version within PSPICE for TI; I was able to construct voltage follower without issue using the same 2016-dated model as TINA-TI. The standalone PSPICE model zip-folder located on TI.com does contain the same 2016 model version, so you have a working and valid copy of the SPICE model.

If you could elaborate on your simulation setup in LTSPICE or share any simulation outputs, I could further assist you in exploring this issue.

Thanks for your answer.

Here is the setup of the simulation :

You can see the large currents at the OPA4830 inputs.

When the symbol was auto-generated (this a LT-SPICE feature), I did check the consistancy between symbol and pin assignment.

I've also attached the .lib for the OPA4830 that I've downloaded.

Hopefully, you can get an idea of what's going wrong.

Hello Nicolas,

Could you review the following links on adding third-party models? It would be helpful to know if re-adding using these methods helps resolve the issue. Additionally, you can try remaking the model from the netlist manually.

For older models (like the OPA4830): LTspice: Adding Third-Party Models | Analog Devices

The built-in wizard does not always work at properly handling compatibility between SPICE models. The model is verified to work in other simulators, so the issue lies with appropriately converting/adding the SPICE model to LTspice.

Hello Nicolas, Kai,

The issue does appear to be solely with LTspice and during the DC operating point measurement. TI's models are designed using PSPICE and/or TINA-TI and the designs are validated on those platforms.

I am attaching my file and image showing a far smaller current at the inputs of the amplifier, much more aligned with what is expected.
