Hi Team,
Planning to use INA217 as a microphone preamplifier, with an Electret microphone ( WM-61A from Panasonic). Just want to confirm if possible to power supply the INA217 with non-symmetrical 0/9V instead of a symmetrical power supply. and I would like to confirm if this will work good with this kind of microphone?
Thank you.
Regards,
May
Hi Maynard,
the WM-61A is an electret microphone containing a FET buffer not supporting differential signalling but only providing single ended signalling. So there wouldn't be any need to use an instrumentation amplifier. A simple low-noise OPAmp would do.

Hi Kai,
Just to confirm does INA217 needs a symmetrical power supply?
Thank you.

Hi Maynard,
the INA217 can be powered by a single supply:
Also see section 10.1 of datasheet.

Hi Maynard,
Yes, you may power the INA217 with asymmetrical or single power supply rails. Please watch for the Vcm and output voltage swings which have certain restraint. Unfortunately, we do not have a simulation model to show you.
If you have additional questions, please let us know.
Best,
