Part Number: AMC1302
Hello,
I am trying to implement a AC current sensor which has a variable frequency and can reach up to 250 KHz (shunt resistor is on the HIGH side). For that I am using AMC1302 as an isolation amplifier followed by a differential amplifier that converts the differential output to single ended, which an analog-to-digital converter (ADC) can then digitize.
From the datasheet it is mentioned that, "Connect the high-side ground (GND1) to INN, either by a hard short or through a resistive path. A DC current path between INN and GND1 is required to define the input common-mode voltage. Do not exceed the input common-mode range as specified in the Recommended Operating Conditions table. For best accuracy, route the ground connection as a separate trace that connects directly to the shunt resistor rather than shorting GND1 to INN directly at the input to the device."
Is it necessary to make the connection between GND1 and INN? I am using a dedicated +5V supply for the VDD1 and GND1.
