LMH6518: Normalized gain

1. When the ladder attenuator is set of 0dB of attenuation, the resulting gain of the LMH6518 is the 10dB (in low gain (LG) mode) plus the 8.86dB of the ouput amplifier stage.  This 18.8dB is then normalized, which mathematically & graphically represents the 18.8dB gain as 0dB gain.  This makes curves and charts more readable and easier to understand.  When using normalized gain, it is simple to read the attenuation or decrease in gain over bandwidth.  For example, in Figure 1 with 200MHz bandwidth limiting, the normalized gain at 900 MHz (x-axis) is -10dB (y-axis).  On a plot which did not have normalized gain, the flatband value would be 18.8dB and the y-axis value at 900MHz would be 8.8dB.  The normalized curve makes it simple to read what the attenuation or gain difference between flatband gain and gain during rolloff/pole/zero.

2. The LMH6518 is designed to wire up its outputs to an ADC, specifically with ADCs having 100-Ohm input impedance.  The ADC08D1020 does have this same input impedance structure, which would make the LMH6518 capable of driving the ADC.
