THS4130: THS4130 VICM vary with Vcc?

Part Number: THS4130
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: THS2630

Tool/software:

in THS4130 datasheet, VICM is -4 to 4.5V typ with Vcc=±5V, so if we change Vcc=±10V, VICM value will enlarge or still be -4 to 4.5V?

  • Hello Zhijun,

You can expect the input common mode voltage and output voltage swing specifications to be dependent on supply voltage.  The required voltage drop across the transistors forces the amplifier to need some distance, or headroom, from each supply rail. For VICM, at higher supplies (such as your +/- 10V), the input headroom voltage to each rail will increase a bit from +/- 5V.  Expect an input common mode swing around -8.75V to 9.25V, for a rough estimate.

We also have the THS2630, a new device with increased supply voltage and improved output swing specs.

    Best,

    Alec

  • Thank you Alec, -8.75V to 9.25V will meet spec.
