LM2901B-Q1: - Ta, abs. max

Part Number: LM2901B-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM2903-Q1

Tool/software:

Dear all,

is the Tj,max<150°C condition (in the abs.max. section of the datasheet) enough to guarantee that the LM2901B-Q1 works in safe conditions, no matter what Ta we have?

Thank you very much in advance

Best regards

  • Hello Alex,

See note 1 of the Abs Max table.

"Stresses beyond those listed under Absolute Maximum Ratings may cause permanent damage to the device. These are stress
ratings only, which do not imply functional operation of the device at these or any other conditions beyond those indicated under
Recommended Operating Conditions. Exposure to absolute-maximum-rated conditions for extended periods may affect device
    reliability."

We do NOT say that it will function correctly - only that it will not damaged.

The maximum operating temperature is 125°C, so we specify full operation up to 125C.

The 150°C Abs Max states that the device will not be damaged and will recover when brought back into operating range.

So operation between 125°C and 150°C is at your own risk.

  • As a follow-up, if you need 150°C operation, we do have a Grade-0 (150°C) for the dual of the LM2903-Q1 (Sorry, none for the Quad).
