Hi, we are currently using OPA2690 in our design. The minimum ACL gain mentioned in data sheet is 1, can we use it at 0.5 gain also?
Hey Bhuvaneshwari,
Can you share the schematic of opamp configuration you are planning to use for gain of 0.5.
Please note, the minimum ACL of 1 is for the noise gain and not for the signal gain. The noise gain of the opamp is same as signal gain at non-inverting amplifier which cannot be less than 1

Hi,
So we are using the inverting configuration.
This is how we are going to use it with 6 inputs of 200 mV each at the inverting terminal and will be connected to another stage of the same op amp.
So, we are actually going to give 6 inputs of 200mV each to inverting terminal and that will be giving 1.2V as output.
Like this we are going have 10 op amps whose outputs of 1.2V each will be summed and given to the next stage op amp.
So, in second stage we will be giving around 12 V input but the maximum rating of the op amp is 6 V right so we are planning on reducing the gain to half so that we can keep our inputs within the maximum supply range of the op amp.
So, can we use it in 0.5 gain configuration ?
Hey Bhuvaneshwari,
In these configuration you signal gain of individual input is -0.5 (inverting gain of 0.5) but you noise gain is still >1.
So to answer you question, yes you can use it in this configuration and it should work just fine.

Thank you for the confirmation.
Also, can you give me some values of the feedback and input resistors to achieve the 0.5 gain.
Thank you
