THP210: Interfacing THP210DR with AMC1200

Part Number: THP210
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AMC1200

Tool/software:

Is the phase margin an issue even though our application is pure DC? Why?

  • Hi Roy,

Is the phase margin an issue even though our application is pure DC? Why?

If you inspect the open-loop Aol vs. frequency, the phase margin is not great. Maybe it is around 50º or slightly less. So the part may be marginal if you are talking about unit gain configuration. But who will be using the high end differential op amp for unity gain application.

To answer your question, yes, we can compensate for pure DC application.

If you are able to configure the THP210 in the following configuration, you will limit the BW of the op emp, then it will have great phase margin and it will be stable (treat the op amp as if it requires to drive 200-300pF in differential capacitive load at the output or AMC1200).

If you have additional questions, please let me know.

    Best,

    Raymond
