THS3491RGTEVM: UNITY GAIN BUFFER USING THS3491

Part Number: THS3491RGTEVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: THS3491, THS3091

Tool/software:

Hi,
So I needed a buffer at 100MHz 200MHz and 300MHz which can give output voltage 20, 15, 10 respectively at those frequencies.
THS3491 seems like the best fit except from the fact that it cant be used as a unity gain buffer. The input and output should be sine waves.
Can you suggest a configuration or another IC that could work.

  • Hi Kshitij,

The highest large signal bandwidth device we have is the THS3491 and for some of those conditions it might not be enough. We have used this device as a buffer previously but is not all that stable. For a buffer configuration, our highest large signal bandwidth device would be the THS3091, which would not be enough for your application. One option would be to set the THS3491 in a gain of 2V/V and attenuate the signal in a later stage or at the input.

    Best regards,

    Ignacio

  • Thanks Ignacio,

We ll try that for sure.

    Best Regards
