Hi all,
Have someone any idea of the maximum current that can be drawn from a TL074CD (Iout) ?
I've seen that Icc = 2.5mA (http://www.ti.com/lit/ds/slos080j/slos080j.pdf) but it's probably only for the supply of the component itself right ?
Any help would be appreciated.
Have a good day.
Hi Thomas,
Although this product is now supported by our Standard Linear and Logic group I may be able to provide some insight. What I did was pull data points from the output voltage swing vs. load resistance graph in the datasheet:
and I divided each output voltage amplitude by the load resistance to give me the output current. The resulting graph of output voltage swing versus output current is shown below:
From this data it looks like the maximum output current is about 33mA (peak, 23.3 mA rms) and the opamp will be able to swing +/-6V (12Vpp) while delivering this much current. I should also note that this is for each opamp inside the TL074.
Hope this helps!
Woah !
I didn't expect such an investigation ^^ It helps a lot !! I found a spice model of a TL074 and the simulation gave me a Max output current of about 25mA.
Your work is enough to confirm this order of magnitude so THANK YOU VERY BEAUCOUP ;)
