Problem with OP177

Hi,

I'm trying to build a differential amplifier using OP177, when (+V and -V) 15v is connected to opamp, instead of 15 volts at pin 4 and 7 its becoming 0.78 or 0.90 volts  on Pin no 4 and 7, what could be the problem can anyone help me solve this.

Thank you

  • Karthik,

Without seeing your circuit schematic, my first guess would be that the cause of your problem is that you have swapped the supplies - in a single package, pin 4 is a negative supply while pin 7 is a positive one (see below), so you need to connect -15V to pin 4 and +15V to pin 7.  Reversing supplies, without current limiting to less than 10mA, may permanently damage the part.
