ISO121: Clearance and Creepage Distance

Part Number: ISO121

Hello,

Can you provide the required Clearance and Creepage Distance for the ISO121BG ?

Is this information available?

Thank you!

  • Hi Jim!

    I hope you're doing well.

I went to the TI packages site: http://www.ti.com/packaging/docs/searchtipackages.tsp?packageName=DIP

Identified the package type as CDIP SB JVD from the datasheet.

Found the associated package drawing from the packages site: http://www.ti.com/lit/ml/mcdi039/mcdi039.pdf

Creepage is the shortest distance between two conductive parts measured along the surface of a solid insulation.

Clearance is the shortest distance between two conductive parts measured through air.

I'll use  nominal values in inches for the calculations.

    Creepage: 2*((0.065+0.030)/2) + ((0.610+0.580)/2) = 0.69 inches

    Clearance: ((0.012+0.008)/2)+ 0.6 = 0.61 inches

Provided a picture to help the customer understand where my measurements came from.

  • Thank you very much Alex!!
