Hi team,

Can we use usb-i2c to communicate with the INA226? Or the SM-USB-DIG is a must.

My customer would like to use the INA226EVM software, they tried a USB-I2C tool. However,  their computer failed to communicate with INA226. Thanks.

    Hello Dongbao,

    Thanks for reaching out on the forum. You can use I2C to communicate with the INA226. To translate from USB to I2C you can use the SM-USB-DIG like in the INA226EVM or an alternate microcontroller that is capable of both the USB and I2C communication protocols. If you use a different device than the SM-USB-DIG, you will most likely need to adapt the software.

    Did computer fail to communicate using the SM-USB-DIG, or with a different intermediary device? How did it fail? Can you provide the error message or expand on how the GUI displayed incorrect information?
