Yes, I have purchased development kits and downloaded the specified software, datasheets and application notes.  I have several BOOSTXL-AFE031-DF1 and C2000 Delfino MCU F28379D LaunchPad development boards.  I have loaded a transmitter and receiver and have the boards communicating with the standard C2000Ware sample code.  I am desiring to change the MARK and SPACE frequency from 131.25kHz and 143.75kHz to 40kHz and 44kHz respectively.

What hardware (filter RLC values) and software changes are required to get this moved from the 140kHz range to the 40kHz range (CENELEC A band)?

Are you doing power transfer via AC or DC? 

For 143.75kHz and 44kHz respectively, you will need to modify the band pass filters for each configuration. Enclosed is a previous link as examples in how the bandpass filter may be simulated via Tina.

Also, the 4th order passive bandpass filter calculation is documented in AFE031 Powerline Communication Analog Front End as well, shown in Table 4 on p. 29. You need to physically modify the filters on the board. Perhaps some other filter settings that need to be optimized for two different frequencies. I will send out instructions in how to configure your system for each communication frequency tomorrow. Which frequency band are you going to communicate and test first? 

I assumed that you only have one BOOSTXL-AFE031-DF1 board.

To be clear, I am changing the MARK frequency from 131.25kHz to 40kHz and I am changing the SPACE frequency from 143.75kHz to 44kHz.  So I plan on operating solely in the ~40kHz range.

The BOOSTXL-AFE031-DF1 PCB is shipped with filters configured for ~140kHz range.  I would like new values to modify the filters on the BOOSTXL-AFE031-DF1 PCB to operate in the ~40kHz range.  I can order parts and rework the PCBs as necessary.  I read through the AFE031 datasheet and reviewed the notes about filters but I have found that the filters implemented on the BOOSTX-AFE031-DF1 are different, so it would be helpful if you would be able to tell me how to modify those PCBs with new parts to set the filters for the ~40kHz range.

I have found a few locations in the C2000Ware sample projects to modify the frequency values and set the necessary filter bands in the AFE031, but again it would be helpful if you would be able to review and tell me the necessary changes required in the sample code.

For clarification I have 2x BOOSTXL-AFE031-DF1 boards and 2x F28379D LaunchPad boards.  I plan on configuring one as transmitter and one as receiver and eventually merging the two code sets.  The power transfer occurs over AC, but initially I am just connecting the line connections with some power resistors until I get the system working.

Hi Jason,

I did pin to pin comparisons between current BOOSTXL-AFE031, Rev. E2 and previous BOOSTXL-AFE031-DF1, AMPS079 Rev A board, see the attached word document. There are quite different. I am unable to answer why there are different, since I am new to the project.

We do have BOOSTXL-AFE031-DF1 operating in the field, so the Mods on the existing board are feasible for your If you want to do Mods to upgrade to current reference design status and your operating frequency ranges, I can help to provide you with detailed instructions.
