INA193A-EP: INA193A

Part Number: INA193A-EP
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: INA193

Dear Sir/Madam,

We are this gain amplifier in our battery charger in the High side, the output voltage is 56V and max output current is 20A. We are doubting on the output of the amplifier there is more noise.

Schematic details:

--Shunt resistor used: 0.005E/5mE.

-One side of the shunt resistor is coming from the charger which is connected to VIn+(Pin.no.3) and other side is going to Bat+ which is connected to Vin-(Pin.no.4).

-Below is the waveforms captured with output current of 5A( 2nd channel) and the 1st channel is the output of the gain amplifier.

-Is the output getting is correct? Please suggest.

-Please help us and waiting for your valuable feedback.

Regards,

Veerendra

  • Hello Veerendra,

Thanks for using the forum to get your question answered.  The output does not look correct.  I will ask some questsions to help in the debug process.

Is there anything connected between your Rshunt to the inputs of the INA193?  What VS(Supply Voltage) are you using for the INA193?  Have you observed the same voltage noise at the input pins of the INA193.  When checking this please probe on the pins of the INA193 as this will help in debug.

When measuring you 5A source are you measuring through a filtered measuement?

  • Hi Veerendra,

what you see at pin 1 is an oscillation which can be the result of a too high capacitive load. Is any capacitance connected to pin 1? Can you show a schematic?

Another cause could be ground noise produced by another part of your circuit. In this case it's important to connect the ground pin of scope probe directly to the ground pin of INA193, best with such a ground spring scope probe:

If the noise is entering the inputs of INA193, as Javier already mentioned, the use of input filtering is recommended. See the section "Input Filtering" of datasheet.
