Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TINA-TI
In TINA-TI Video Training Series: Configuring Sources in TINA-TI(TM) simulator around minute 4:35 they load an example file (Modulator.TSC) that contains an Ideal Multiplier.
If you right click on this component and select "Properties" you find out it is an "Ideal Multiplier" whose inputs impedance are set at 10k by default.
If you right click and select "Edit Symbol" and then check properties, you get to know its name is "585" (without quotes).
If you use the Schematic Symbol Editor (from windows) Start->TINA9 - TI->Schematic Symbol Editor) you find out the part exists in DEVICE.DDB within TINA's directory in Program Files.
However, my question is:
¿How do you select and insert this device in a new TINA schematic?
I have tried:
a) Looking for it in the Component Bar.
b) Tools->Find Component...
c) Checking the upper right options for selecting components in TINA-TI.
But I cannot locate this device (nor others that appear in the DEVICE.DDB file).
I DO KNOW I CAN:
1) Copy this component from the example (Modulator.TSC) sheet into my new diagram.
2) Not use this component but configure a controlled source using the Controlled Source Wizard.
But it seems odd that this and other components in DEVICE.DDB are not directly available for pickup in TINA-TI.
¿Am I doing something wrong?
Thanks for any feedback.
Juan Carlos
