Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TINA-TI
I'm working up a design using the INA163 for a microphone preamp but I also want to include the option of an unbalanced input. What is the preferred method to do this? Thanks.

Kai, thanks for the response. The unbalanced input signal will be microphone level as well, nothing more than a few millivolts. I know of one manufacturer who uses the INA163 as the first gain stage of a phono preamp using only an unbalanced input with very good results, I've looked for a schematic of their application but I've had no luck. My expertise is in the area of vacuum tubes and discrete circuitry, I'm just trying to simplify things a little these days.
Hi Robert,
If you expected a DC-coupled unbalanced input, you can try with the below schematic.
But, if you need an AC-coupled unbalanced input, please refer to the below schematic.
If you can use the spice simulator TINA-TI, I will also attach those simulation files.
Thank you and Best regards,
