I'm using PSPICE for TI and attempting to simulate the OAP4140 (transient analysis).
Any time I change the negative supply to a value other than the same value for the positive supply, the simulation fails.
For instance, the standard Reference design from PSICE for TI for the OPA4140, schematic1, Page 1 shows a follower configuration with Vcc = 18V and Vee = -18V. This runs a transient analysis properly. If I change the Vee supply to, say -12V, the simulation fails.
What is causing this and what is the workaround?
Hi Steve,
Q: What is causing this and what is the workaround?
This is Cadence software issues where asymmetrical power supply rails will result the issues as you have reported. I do not know if the issues have been resolved.
You can use Tina to perform the transient analysis for now. If you need any help, please let us know.
Best,
Raymond
