What is the difference between MLO and SPL?

Hi,

I see that the mksdcard.sh script copies MLO, apart from other things, to the boot partition. However, the wiki that explains how to debug SPL code mentions the spl binary as u-boot-spl.bin.

I took a diff of both the binaries and that shows they are different. So which of these two should we use when loading memory using JTAG to debug boot-up issues?

I found the answer in the below link:

For MLO use the spl/u-boot-spl.bin file. The difference between u-boot-spl.bin and MLO is that u-boot-spl.bin does not contain header information. Peripheral boot needs an MLO without header
