PCM1864: Multi chip application.

Hello Support,

Our customer wants to use two PCM1864 ADC’s simultaneously over the same audio interface on a Linux environment as shown below.

We reviewed the device datasheet to verify its capabilities, and we were wondering if these IC’s can be used simultaneously? is there needed any kind of "Multichip Synchronization Protocol"?

Hello Esteban,

There is no Multichip Synchronization Protocol besides having them supplied with same clock and using TDM with assigning appropriate channel on each chip to corresponding slot to not overlap with data from other device when sharing the same audio data output line.
