Hi Team,

TLV320AIC3104 will be the source of the audio signal, and the analog output of this CODEC will be input to TPA3118D2-Q1.

We are developing the Audio module on IMX8mm-evk board.

Need your help to integrate the codec with amplifier.

Is it possible to you to share driver file or any documentation to integrate TLV320AIC3104 with TPA3118D2 power amplifier.

Share anything you have related to it.

Hello Divyesh,

The TPA3118 is an analog input device takes in differential analog input signals to output for each channel as shown in the diagram below. So the TLV320AIC3104 will need to be setup to configure that Analog output.

Let me loop in the team that support the TLV320AIC3104 to answer driver questions

Few more questions:

1. So basically to drive TPA3118 amp, do we need its driver file or will it work without driver file.

2. What steps need to be followed to setup TLV320AIC3104 with TPA3118 AMP.

3. Currently We have driver file and dtsi file for mentioned codec , what else to be required for the amp setup.

Hi,

Since you already have the AIC3104 driver, looks like you just need to send the analog output to TPA3118.

I don't know if TPA3118 has driver for its operation, Luis might be able to comment.

Yes I have driver for AIC3104.

Could you please share its I2C address, pincontrol for IOMUX and reset gpio pin configs.

As our integration as follows:

Tlv310aic3104 (2×20W) > TPA3118> 2 SPEAKERS

Also Could you please check whether we have any driver for TPA3118 to integrate with imx8mm-evk board.

Hi,

I'm not sure I understand your question. The 7-bit I2C address for AIC3104 is in the data sheet as 0x18.

What control IC are you referring to?

Luis can provide the driver information for TPA3118.

Hello,

The TPA3118 takes in an analog input, there is no driver or registers for this device. Whatever analog output from the TLV320AIC3104 need to go into an ac coupling input cap and then connected to the input pins for the TPA3118.

Please make a seperate thread about the TLV320AIC3104 driver as I do not support this device and this question isn't relevant to the TPA3118D2 device configuration or behavior as it simply takes an analog input. How it receives that analog input depends on whatever interface the customer is using.
