TLV320AIC3100: Development Tools and Feature Customization

Part Number: TLV320AIC3100
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TLV320AIC3120EVM-U, TLV320AIC3110EVM-U

Hello,

I'm hoping to identify the most appropriate evaluation kit for a TLV320AIC3100IRHBR (already chosen and implemented in a design).

In addition, I am looking for a way to utilize the ACEV-1A EVM software interface with the TLV320AIC3100 in my application for performance tuning; what interface(s) are required to allow proper communication?

Thank you,

Paul Ferrara

  • Hi Paul,

You can use TLV320AIC3120EVM-U, it's of the same device family.

The communication is through I2C bus to the DUT. I2S interface and MCLK can be provided by your system.

    Regards,

    Peter

  • Hi Peter,

Thank you for the quick response; I was leaning towards the 3120 but wasn't certain if that or the TLV320AIC3110EVM-U would be the best fit.

Will I be able to connect the 3100 on my PCB to my PC for software customization through a generic UART-I2C adapter, or does the software require a specific interface/enumeration to properly identify the communication channel/target?

    Thank you again,

    Paul

  • Hi Paul,

Both are using the same EVM, no harm to use either it's just AIC3120 is mono class D which matches the AIC3100.

The GUI is designed with TAS1020B USB audio device, so you have to connect the PC to the EVM and connect the I2C lines to your board.

    Regards,

    Peter

  • Hi Peter,

Excellent, thank you for the additional clarifications.

I'll use the AIC3120 for experimentation and eventual interface to our hardware assembly.

    Thank you again,

    Paul
