TPA3138D2: No audio is output

Please tell me the possible causes and what to check.

I have configured an audio circuit with PCM5121 and TPA3138D2, but no audio is output.

The output is single-ended.

The circuit is almost as per the data sheet.

■ Situation

-When playing an mp3 file with the aplay command, a loud noise is generated from the speaker.

-The loudness of the noise does not change even if the GAIN_SEL pin setting of TPA3138D2 is changed.

-When playing a wav file, there is no sound or noise.

Did you check if there is fault happened? you can check Fault pin.

Fault pin is high.

For example, if I suspect that I have entered a voltage above the absolute maximum rating on the pins of the TPA3138D2, is there a way to see if the TPA3138D2 is faulty?

Hi,

You can monitor pin #2 SD/FAULT, to check if any pull_low action happened.

And is there any audio connection different between mp3 and wav input?

What is "pull_low action"?

If TPA3138D2 is out of order, will pin # 2 SD / FAULT be low even when the power is turned on?

There is nothing but mp3 and wav.

Did you monitor SD/Fault pin signal?
