PCM1754: Want to know PCM1754 will operate surely when Vcc was changed as 0V→5V while 3.3V added at MUTEPIN.

My customer wants to know detail about this question.

Could you answer yes or no?

1. Will PCM1754 not be broken if 3.3V was added when Vcc=0? - I think this is yes, it will not broken.

2. Will PCM1754 operates surely when Vcc was changed as 0V→5V while 3.3V added at MUTEPIN. - I think this is also yes, PCM1754 will operates immediately after Vcc was 5V.

Hello,

The device will not be broken when VCC=0 and 3.3V is applied to MUTE pin.

Similarly, once the voltage on supply is changed from 0 to 5 Volts, the part will operate, but depending on mute pin's voltage, it can be muted or unmuted, but no issue will occur. Note that any voltage above 2V on mute pin will be consider High and will mute the part.

Thank you for your kind.

We are asking this because it seems to be no mention about voltage at mute pin on data sheet.

I understood that because there are no mentions, it should be OK, but it is too rough for customer.

Is it OK to think that abs range of mute pin is within that of Vcc (-0.3V~6.5V) and will no damage on that range?

Yes, the input pins range is (-0.3V~6.5V) and there will be no damage.

OK, I understood that if Vcc is (-0.3V~6.5V), and Mute pin voltage is (-0.3V~6.5V), there are no damage to devices.
