TAS2505: Could be damaged when SPKVDD < AVDD & DVDD?

Part Number: TAS2505

Hello,

My customer is using TAS2505 at their current production.
At their design it sometimes happens that AVDD and DVDD are 1.8V but SPKVDD gets off (0V).
My customer can accept battery-current leakage in this case, but would like to confirm the followings.
1) If TAS2505 is not damaged under SPKVDD>AVDD and DVDD condition.
2) After the condition of 1), if TAS2505 can get proper operation with no issue when SPKVDD gets back to 5V.
Please provide TI expert comments on their questions.

Best regards,

K.Hirano

  • Hi Hirano-san,

It should be OK to have AVDD/DVDD powered while SPKVDD is not powered.
SPKVDD is not involved in the POR circuit, however it is still recommended to perform a hardware or software reset and reinitialize device registers to resume operation.
