TS3A226AE: 4 pole Headphone issue for TS3A226AE

Part Number: TS3A226AE

Hi,

We use the TS3A226AE for the microphone and headphone switch control,

now, TRS 3-pole Headphone or Speaker is fine,

and now, 4-Pole OMTP Headsets, the microphone and headphone are both received but the microphone is very Low voice, the MIC voltag is ony 1.1V( normal 2.4V),

4-Pole Standard/ North American Headsets, the headphone received, and the microphone has no signal,

Please kindly review our schematic diagram and advise if there are any error, thanks.

  • Hi Zhang,

At first glance, the schematic looks ok, but have you had a chance to look at our design guide for audio switches?

I'd like to ask how long are the traces for this device layout? Long traces are bad for these parts – and due to this the IC should be placed as close as possible to the audio jack for best results. The 3.5mm jack connections (TIP, RING2 and SLEEVE) should have the following goals met: resistance to the jack of no more than 50mΩ, placed on the same layer as the audio jack, i.e. vias are not recommended for these pins, and that I2C communication lines are routed away from these pins.

Let me know the answers to these so we can take next steps to see what's going on with your microphone.

    Thanks!

    Alex
